Why see Oregon Symphony - A Charlie Brown Christmas?
Hello In There
Portland's Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall will play host to the ultimate holiday spectacular this December, as the Peanuts gang descend for A Charlie Brown Christmas. Conductor Deanna Tham will lead the Symphony through the compositions of jass pianist Vince Guaraldi as live actors bring the beloved characters of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and all their friends who celebrate with Christmas cheer! Not only that, but the show will start with the classic holiday short, The Snowman, which will be accompanied by the orchestra.
The Peanuts comic strip first debuted in 1950, and brought lovable loser Charlie Brown into the world, along with his dog Snoopy, and friends Linus and Lucie. The comic strip ran for fifty years, and A Charlie Brown Christmas was broadcast annually for fifty-seven years.
