Danish Songstress Agnes Obel Tours Citizen of Glass

Hot on the heels of the early 2018 release of her third studio album Citizen of Glass, multi-platinum certified artist Agnes Obel is set to cast her mellifluous spell on a headline tour of North America this September. A gifted innovator, Obel fuses past and present in her bittersweet music, arranging strings and gothic orchestral soundscapes alongside synths, vocoders and lyrical mediation on the isolation of the modern world.

Much like the reflective and introspectiveness of her songs, the Danish songstress' live shows are hallowed affairs in which the audience is cocooned in a hushed revery. Shying away from surface-level gimmicks, Obel's rich sonic journeys are accompanied by a full band of stringed instruments, piano, clarinet, looped samples and her trademark spine-tingling vocal harmonies, which are punctuated with her soft wit and ironic sense of humour in between songs.
