Why See Broken Social Scene?
THEY DIDN'T FORGET IT IN PEOPLE
Indie heroes and arbiters of all that was noughties cool, the Canadian supergroup are back with a new album and tour, their first in six years. Made up of anything from 6 - 19 members, including Feist, Emily Haines and Kevin Drew, this special collective are known for their ethereal sound, youthful energy, and lyrical ambiance and have gone on to inspire a generation of indie groups since their formation in 1999.
This year's configuration sees 15 members collaborating on new record Hug of Thunder. After years of inactivity, the group were spurred to get back together by the Paris terrorist attacks, with founder Drew saying "At this time and in the state of the world as it is, the one thing we knew we could do is come back as friends. It was important for all of us to come together because it's the only thing we can politically do at this moment in time."
The tour will see them joined by Frightened Rabbit (September 22 - October 6) and The Belle Game (September 16 - 21).
Performance date: 24 October 2017
